I see this all the time and I think it's kind of moronic. Unless you're arguing about grammar/English/language/linguistics/etc., bringing up how the other person uses chatspeak or cannot spell or what have you is irrelevant and pretty rude.

I can understand not being able to really understand the person because his/her language is so poor, however, you simply ask them to reiterate, not berate them for being "stupid" because they don't know English.

Whoa, whoa, slow down now. I know you're friendly, and you're not trying in any way to be rude, but I think I should go over a few "rules" with you on profile comments (among other things). This should help you to avoid trouble in the future:

Yes, exaclty, how about helping people to correct their mistakes and improve, instead of being a jerk to them? This stamp makes a nice suggestion.I have seen around far too often such a rude treatment to people for the way they are typing and definitely something must be done about it.I agree for the chat speak, but sometime people just may need help.Some of them are typing badly on purpose, if they are trolls for example, but some others may be just kids.
And english is not my first language.So I hope you will exuse the mistakes you will find in my typing?
