Published Works

  • Mere Shadow

  • Safely tucked under the covers is a term I would never use, since those covers can’t shield you from me or the fear I will cause you... You see me in the dark... I'm there; it's not just your imagination. Published in my University's 2008-2009 Anthology looking for trees.

    There's Always Something (Series)

  • There's Something In The Basement

  • A mere trip to the basement can lead to one's demise... Be wary of what lies down there waiting to attack...
  • There's Something in the Attic

  • Attics aren't always the most pleasent of places to go. Mostly everything is covered in dust and it's generally dark. The dust and the darkness in this attic are inviting though, compared to what else is up there...
  • There's Something in the Garage

  • When I think of the garage, I don't think of something scary. But when there're sounds coming from in the garage when no one's home and there's a car there that I thought left a long time ago, fear strikes. There's the car, now where's the driver? And why is there a puddle of water on the seat?
  • There's Something in the Bedroom

  • I'm wasn't sure I even wanted to know what that noise was. Yet, it had been quieter than my music and still caught my attention. So I was intrigued, though very much afraid.
  • There's Something in the Kitchen

  • I've just moved into my new apartement and my two best friends are staying the night. I head to the kitchen to get some drinks for us, but I don't know if we'll ever actually get to drink them.

    Horror

  • Whispers

  • I didn't do it. Well... I kind of did do it, but it wasn't me. I'm not crazy... Really I'm not. Don't believe me?
  • Bloody Hell - Let's Pretend

  • Speculations over the saying "bloody hell". What if it's true? What if Hell is full of blood? Let's pretend... -Mature Content Warning
  • Old and Battered

  • An old Hallwe'en decoration becomes torn and ruined. Will it's owners fix it up, or simply toss it? Will this be it's last year to hang outside?
  • Music Unheard

  • They go to the library to find a book for a project. What they find in a back room is much more frightening than any book...
  • Hallway

  • In this hallway with no lockers and no rooms there have been disappearances. People vanish without a trace. What happens to them?
  • Un Autre Jour

  • En attendant. -En Français.
  • Another Day

  • Translation of Un Autre Jour; pending
  • Song of Death

  • My mother's just like any other mother. She keeps a roof over our heads and is always there. But there's one thing that's different. Sometimes... she knows that people are going to die...
  • Mine

  • There are three things that scare monsters away. Grownups especially parents, light and a special little fox named Pie. But this monster doesn't seem to be scared of any of those things. In fact, it seems to want Pie all for itself. No! Pie is mine!

    Fantasy

  • Double Reality

  • Schizophrenia: often thought of as a split personality. But it's not, and what it really is, is not what's wrong with this girl. Where she goes, what she sees, they're real. And so is the dragon, and it's anger.

    Humour
  • Le Poulet

  • Qu'est-ce qui arrivait premier, le poulet ou l'oeuf? Un poulet très étrange va te dire. -En Français

    Perspectives

  • Animal Story - Wolves' Walk

  • As their food supply disappears because of the two legged ones, the wolves must move to a new home. Winter is coming fast and the young ones are tired. Will they make it?

    General

  • All Together Again

  • Separated from his pack, the wolf searches for them, listening for their calls as his paws take him across the terrain.
  • They Are Your Neighbours

  • There's always the thought that you'll never encounter a killer. That doesn't happen where you live. But the truth is... they could be anyone. Even your neighbours... Jade Stevens learns that... but it won't help her now.
  • Reflection
Descriptive piece of a setting. See accompanying image (link on piece).
  • Serenity
Descriptive piece of a person. See accompanying image (link on piece).
  • The Taming

  • We're all broken eventually when placed under stress.
Featured as a Daily Lit Deviation by ~julietcaesar in the news article Daily Lit Deviations for June 12, 2009.

    Sociopolitical

  • Might As Well Be No Tomorrow

  • There were screams all around me. Screams from throats already too raw from screaming. Screaming from people young and old, male and female. Screams... and my voice was one of them.

    Romantic

  • Love Can't Conquer All

  • One of my downfalls is that I'm always so negative. Just this once, I was hoping that maybe I would be wrong. Just this once, I was hoping things would work out... just this once...

    Philosophical

  • Finding Myself

  • Footprints... heading in many directions in the snow. Where do they lead? Why? Why is one set of footprints deeper? Am I supposed to follow? -"Trouve Moi-Même" translation
  • Waiting to Live

  • Jesse McNally's mantra is 'que sera, sera'. Despite the voices that tell him he should chose his path in life, he's going to continue to live for the moment. Of course, there are moments that change lives, and in Jesse's case, it causes him to come across someone who says 'happens all the time.'

"If there is a book you really want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it." Toni Morrison

"A moment ago they were just words, magically the words became alive. Now they are telling the story." Sharon M. Smith

"Ask yourself why a certain story is bad. It is not bad because of the subject, because in literature there are no good or bad subjects, there is only a good or bad treatment of the subject." Julio Cortázar.

"A good subject is like a good sun, a star with a planetary system around it of which, many times, we were unaware until the story writer, an astronomer of words, revealed it to us." Julio Cortázar.

"When you can state the theme of a story, when you can separate it from the story itself, then you can be sure the story is not a very good one. The meaning of a story has to be embodied in it, has to be made concrete in it." Flannery O'Conner

"You tell a story because a statement would be inadequate." Flannery O'Conner

"You say one becomes 'evil' when one leaves the herd. I say that depends entirely on what the herd is doing." Flannery O'Conner
